KEY AREAS TO DEVELOP IN YOUR LIFE AS A MAN

A CONSISTENT RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD  - PART ONE
I have observed something for awhile now with people's relationship with God.  I have seen how many associate themselves with God most when they need Him for something  and desert Him after their issue has been solved. This is till the next issue comes up. In another class falls the seasonal church goers. They are those who appear in the house of God once in awhile to pray for Him to see them through. Then there are the crowd who come to receive a miracle or a deliverance of one sort or another and then go back to their old lifestyles. It is funny to see how some even play hide and seek with God. As for these, men of God are forever chasing them to make them pay just a visit to God's house. Hmmm. Where do you fall?  Maybe you are not a part of those we have just mentioned but could you be also in the category of those who are so punctual at church that everybody knows you but yet still your heart is far away from God? God is conversant with the fruit of your lips very well but your heart is not with Him? I must say with remorse that this is the state of many today.
But seriously, would we pay attention to a  friend who behaves like this? If the answer is a no, then why do we expect otherwise from God.  God is patient and forever loving, yet if we intentionally choose not to work on our relationship with him we do so to our own detriment. There is an Akan proverb which rendered in English sounds like this,
' It is the chick who is closest to its mother that gets to eat the thigh of grasshopper.'
In this context it means  that, those who relate well with God are those who receive the crème de la crème of God, that is, the very best of God's best there is. When we maintain a good relationship with God by reading His word, praying, obeying  His instructions and fellowshipping with Him consistently and regularly we will be blessed with a beautiful relationship with God which will in the end give us access to everything including the very treasures of God. We will not only get to know more about God but we will as well get to understand His ways. We will get to discover our identity in Him and He will fill our lives with Himself so we can bring  glory to Him. Indeed, it is those who treasure God who receive the very best of His treasures. As a man, try to develop a relationship with God. Let it be your first and foremost priority before any other thing. This matters because it affects your destiny. Bear this in mind that it is only the people who know their God who shall be strong and do exploits(Daniel 11:32).  Whether many will come to know of God or otherwise, whether your life will be a blessing or not, whether you will fulfill your purpose or not depends on your relationship with God. That is why nothing in this life is as important as your relationship with God. Moreover, your relationship with God will determine where you will spend eternity too. Don't play with your relationship with God. Let us give ourselves a fresh start and build a better and deeper relationship with God from today. Shalom!
